Apocalypse Survival Tip #17: Give kids a stuffed animal with a zipper pocket full of emergency essentials. They're less likely to leave behind a "friend" than a backpack.

I read somewhere that kids are less likely to leave behind a stuffed animal friend than a backpack. Which is so true. As a kid I always lost things but I never lost my blankie. So if you can find a backpack that is also a stuffed animal, or if you can make on that has a small emergency kit inside than it's more likely the child will carry it around willingly (and not forget it) than a normal backpack that they aren't at all attached to. Such a good idea!
